Relationship Counseling

I respect that it takes a lot for people to decide together that they would benefit from outside help in navigating their relationship. I will work with you to build trust, deepen intimacy, improve communication, and help you understand where and why you are getting stuck.

Is this for me?

I provide therapy to all different types of relationships:

  • couples

  • multiple-partner units

  • friends

  • family members, including siblings or parent & adult child

  • co-parents, or separated parents

  • co-workers

I work with issues such as:

  • Communication breakdown

  • Non-monogamy and polyamory dynamics

  • Secret keeping, including infidelity or affairs

  • Ending a relationship with intention & thoughtfulness

  • Working together through difficult external circumstances such as illness or grief

If you have any questions about whether I could be the right therapist for you, please let me know. Currently, all therapy sessions are provided virtually.

FAQs

  • Individuals: $195 per session

    Relationships/Couples/Families: $250 per session

    Groups: $70/session

  • I am not in network with any insurance companies. Some insurance plans offer partial reimbursement for therapy. To find out your benefits, you can call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask questions such as:

    • Does my plan include mental health benefits for out of network providers?

    • Do I have a deductible for out of network care, and how much, if any, has been met?

    • How much will be reimbursed?

    • How long does reimbursement take after I submit a superbill?

I can provide superbills for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

  • Yes. I have limited sliding scale spots available for those in need. If therapy costs are prohibitive, we can discuss sliding scale options during our consultation call. If I do not have sliding scale availability at the time you reach out, I do keep a waitlist for when there are openings in my practice.

  • Free, brief, and introductory. You and I will have a conversation where you share with me what brings you to therapy and what you are looking for, I’ll tell you about my practice, and I can answer any questions you have. Together we decide if it feels like a good fit.

  • We will start to get to know one another - discussing what prompted you to seek therapy, your hopes or concerns for our work together, questions about therapy itself, and beginning to explore some of your history and background.

It is normal to feel a little nerves, uncertainty, relief, or a whole host of other feelings when starting or restarting therapy with a new therapist.

  • At this time my appointments are all virtual. This may change, so if you are interested in in-person sessions in the Portland, Oregon area you can let me know during our consultation call.

  • Yes. I am legally and ethically bound to maintain confidentiality. There are a few exceptions: if I have reason to believe a client might hurt themself or someone else, then as a mandated reporter I have to tell the appropriate people to ensure safety.
